Geography department started with the inception of the college in 1982. The discipline of geography exposes students to the multitude of ways in which geographers study the mother earth. Geographers study human-environment interactions and their spatially varying expressions for making assessment to develop an equitable societal order. It is the subject which opens the door to this more dynamic world and prepares the students to develop a global vision. Students learn to appreciate the diversity of landscapes, peoples and cultures.
It introduces students to distinctive investigative tools such as maps, charts, graphs, fieldwork and the use of powerful digital communication technologies. It opens their eyes to the beauty and wonder around them and acts as a source of inspiration and creativity. More than, this makes them capable to appreciate the complexity of attitudes and values which shape the way we use and misuse the environment.
